Museo Popol Vuh
The Popol Vuh — known in modern K'iche' orthography as the Popol Wuj in Guatemala City, is dedicated to the sacred creation text of the K'iche' people of Guatemala. This proposed rebrand draws on the cosmological metaphors of the Popol Wuj paired with K'iche' inspired typography that centers the voice of the people the text belongs to
01
Logo
The logo is derived from the opening passage of the Popol Vuh, where the gods stake the four corners of sky and earth, from the saltillo diamond at the center of K'iche' huipil weavings. The logo type is from a custom display typeface drawn from K'iche' letterforms and Guatemalan vernacular signage.

Design Element + Application
The primary design element is the saltillo diamond extracted from the center of the logo. It frames portraits and crops imagery across applications. The five-color palette is drawn from the Maya cosmology of the Popol Vuh, four directional colors of maize at red, yellow, black, and white, with blue-green at the center marking the axis mundi.
